The following review of the CIS commands available for use in the Forum
CO area was written to help new users to utilize this powerful feature
easier and to introduce the new /TIM and /UST commands. The list that
follows can be displayed by typing " /HEL " on any CO channel. Prefix
commands with a "/"
/TUN # - Tunes channel # (1-36)
/MON 1,4 - Listen to extra chnls
/UNM 7,3 - Unmonitor channels
/STA - Type channel status
/TIM - Type time, day, and date
/UST - User STatus typeout
/EXI - Exit CB Simulator
/WHO - Type PPN of last talker
/HAN - Change handle
/SCR xyz - Scramble on key "xyz"
/SMC xyz - Scr & Monitor Clear
/XCL xyz - Xmt CLear; unscr rcvr
/UNS - Unscramble (both clear)
/SQU abc - Squelch handle "abc"
/JOB - your job #
/HELP - Type this message
The 2 newest commands, display the
current time and user status as:
/TIM

And one other undocumented (here) command available on channels 0-8 is
the random set of DICE useful in ways left to your creativity. The 2
numbers are displayed to all users on the "ROLLers" channel at the same
time in a fashion that prohibits any cheating! <Try it!>
/ROLL

Some useful <ctrl> characters are:
(ctrl represented here as "^")
^V =this will display the line you
have typed, but not yet sent
with the <return> key, to your
screen only. Useful when many
people are typing at once.
^U =deletes entire line before it
is transmitted with <return>
^C =exits the CO area and returns
you to the Forum main menu or
Function: prompt
^P =this is used to abort the
bulletin displayed during the
CO entry. The next line you
see is the same as the /STA
^O = aborts entry bulletin and
the CO user status.
"Unofficial CO Protocol" used on
most CIS Forums:
1. Don't sneak in and "LURK"-
Announce your arrival.
2. You may only type 80 char.
per line. Type "..." at the
end of your line to show you
will continue.
3. Type a single "." or " ga. "
meaning " go ahead" when done.
